PASTOR STEVE'S PONDERINGS

We have a house in Willard! We are so grateful to actually have a move-in date when the WHOLE family will be in Willard, and it’s July 29. We have purchased a home at Holiday Lakes on Big Bass Lake. God’s blessings are many!

I have spent some time this week reflecting upon God’s goodness to us. You know, just the fact that God would reach down into the miry clay and rescue me from the destruction of sin would be enough to prove God’s goodness to me. I mean, who am I that God should be mindful of me? Yet, the Creator God did the unthinkable and sacrificed Himself for me.

Isn’t it amazing though that God doesn’t stop there? He could, but He doesn’t. Paul tells us that God The Father has lavished His love upon us. John echoes Paul’s statement of lavish love by assuring us that we are indeed the children of God. In Romans 8, Paul testifies that we are co-heirs with Christ in the Kingdom. And perhaps the best of all are Jesus’s own words… “I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you…: John 15:15-16.

Chosen by Jesus. I vividly remember a time in Junior High when Darryl, the coolest kid in our school, picked me to be on his track relay team in gym class. He did it because he knew I was fast and wanted to win, but man did it feel good to be chosen! God’s blessings are endless. For our family, this week we closed the sale on our house in Berea and we have 30 days to move out, and we close on our house at Holiday Lakes in 26 days. I suppose there are people in the world who would say that is just a crazy coincidence… but our family knows better! It is just the Father pouring out some of that crazy, lavish love. “Thank you, Father!” “You are good — all of the time!”
